Project Management

Our main goal is to make building an A-rated architecturally designed home completely stress free and simple as possible for our clients in Cork. We have a highly experienced and dedicated project management team that will guide you through the whole process from architectural design, planning permission to building your home along with all the finishing touches. We understand how busy everyday life can be so we have developed a market-leading smartphone app to keep you updated every step of the way.

On time, On Budget, Our Promise

One we have agreed on your design and budget, we will then lodge for planning permission and begin building your new dream home on approved. All the tradesmen and designers are brought together by KMC Homes and we can assure you that you home will be delivered on time and on budget (no hidden costs) saving you money, stress and time in the process.

Meet The Team

Kieran McCarthy

Design & Build Director

Kieran grew up in Midleton Co. Cork. He comes from a long family history of Engineers, Architects and Builders. He qualified as a Civil Engineer himself in UCC in 1996. Kieran’s design, building and project management skills were learned working for such acclaimed companies as John Sisk & Sons, PJ Hegarty & Sons and The Murphy Group (UK) and Joseph Lanes & Sons. Kieran has also travelled extensively and brings a dynamic, innovative and customer centric approach to the business of home building.

“I come from a family long associated with building and design (my great, great grandfather was a church builder I’m told!). I have travelled to many beautiful parts of the world (with either a guitar or a surfboard). I have seen how people in other parts of the world live.” I contrast this to growing up in a small, semi-detached house in Midleton.

We really needed an extension, but my mother couldn’t deal with the hassle and stress it would have caused her and my father who were both working. I thought there is something wrong with this picture.

I compare our old semi-detached house with those that are built today and there is very little difference apart from a higher energy rating. We built the pyramids over 4,500 years ago and the best we can offer most people today is a rectangular shaped house with a sloping roof, I felt compelled to offer something better. I believe modern people have a right to live in a well designed house. A great living space makes a huge difference to your well-being. It elevates you!

Adopting a Design & Build model widely used in New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the US, I founded KMC Homes in 2003 to make beautifully designed homes more accessible. Check out Kieran’s Vlog here.

Jer Kelleher

Jer is a key member of KMC Homes’ management team. He has 20+years experience in almost every aspect of building.

Jer and his brothers worked in the family’s construction business and learned all aspects of the trade under his father. He brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and drive to the table and has completed several major projects to the highest of standards.

KMC Homes was appointed as the main contractor on a recently completed, high quality one-off house. The clients a mature couple with exacting standards. The structure was complex and the detailing off-standard. The attention to detail and the quality of the work undertaken by KMC Homes can only be described as excellent. Their site management and programming skills matched the quality of their work. I actually said to Kieran McCarthy, MD of the company that I felt the clients got one of the best built houses in Cork for a very reasonable price. I can, without reservation recommend KMC Homes to anyone intending to build their dream home.
